Our Philosophy
At Barn Close Pre School, we believe in fostering growth in a supportive and nurturing environment. We focus on children's welbeing, which is fundamental to their learning.
Our high adult to child ratios always mean that children receive the quality time, care and attention they need and deserve.

Parent and Carers
Our setting recognises parents and carers as the first and most important educators of their children, and our staff work in partnership with them to provide the best care and education. By sharing information about your child's interests, needs, and development, we can offer the best possible start for your child.
We operate an open-door policy, allowing parents and carers to speak freely with their Key Worker regarding any concerns, no problem is too small.
Once your child has settled in, we welcome parents to volunteer during sessions. We will provide a rota where you can sign up to help with crafts or story time during our sessions.
Keyworkers
Your child will be assigned a keyworker who will work closely with you to help your child settle happily into the setting.
Your keyworker will observe your child during play and activities, recording these observations to support and enhance your child's development. At Barn Close Preschool, we use Learning Journals, a book filled with observations, photos, and artwork from your child's time at the preschool. While some settings use online platforms for this purpose, we prefer the traditional approach. We believe it's valuable to help parents step away from screens in a technology-driven world.
Termly progress catch-up meetings (or more frequently if needed) will be arranged with your keyworker to discuss your child's development and explore how we can work together to support their growth.
